Wild Clone Taxidermy Builds Into The Community With The Launch Of The Wild Clone Cup.
At Wild Clone Taxidermy, we believe that success is not solely defined by our business achievements, but also by the positive impact we make on the communities around us. While our primary focus is providing world-class taxidermy services, we understand that giving back means more than just business—it’s about investing in people, supporting growth, and creating lasting opportunities.
One powerful way we can give back is through rugby, a sport deeply embedded in South African culture and especially significant in the Eastern Cape, where we are based. This region has produced exceptional talent, with international icons like Siya Kolisi and Rassie Erasmus rising to international acclaim as current Springbok captain and national coach. Despite the region’s rich rugby history, there has been a lack of opportunities for young high school players to showcase their talent in a competitive and recognized setting. That’s where the Wild Clone Cup comes in.

We've recognized a gap in the Eastern Cape's rugby landscape: while the region is teeming with raw talent, there hasn’t been a dedicated competition for local schools. Motivated by our passion for the sport and commitment to uplifting the community, Wild Clone Taxidermy has taken the initiative to create a tournament that will bring together the top 11 high school rugby teams from across the region. The cup is not only for the first teams but also for the younger age group teams. The Wild Clone Cup is fully initiated and run by Wild Clone Taxidermy, underscoring our dedication to the future of rugby in the Eastern Cape.
This competition is designed to give both players and coaches a platform to shine. By gathering the best schools in the region, we’re not just fostering healthy competition; we’re offering emerging players the chance to earn the recognition they deserve. Scouts, selectors, and coaches will have the opportunity to see young talent in action, which could lead to scholarships, contracts, and professional rugby opportunities.
For coaches, the Wild Clone Cup provides a valuable opportunity to refine their skills and strategies in a high-level competitive environment. It allows them to learn from each other and grow within their profession while helping to raise the standard of rugby coaching in the region.
For the players, this competition is a game-changer. High school rugby in the Eastern Cape is often overlooked compared to other provinces, but the region’s talent is undeniable. The Wild Clone Cup aims to spotlight these young athletes, helping to create pathways for them to pursue careers in rugby, whether it’s representing the Springboks or advancing into professional leagues. It’s about more than just the games—it’s about creating opportunities and opening doors for the future.
At Wild Clone Taxidermy, we’re committed to making a lasting impact. By launching the Wild Clone Cup, we’re investing in the future of our youth, encouraging talent development, and instilling a sense of pride within our community. This competition isn’t just about rugby; it’s about fostering growth, nurturing dreams, and providing the next generation of rugby stars with the platform they need to rise.
We’re proud to be part of shaping the future of Eastern Cape rugby and look forward to seeing the incredible talent that will emerge from this exciting initiative. Together, we can help turn today’s young players into tomorrow’s champions.
